Custom 3d Printed Designs

INSPIRATION

The commonality between digital fabrication and nature is growth. Forms that appear to grow from nowhere, rather than built by a human hand. The inspiration for this project lay in this duality of forms, natural and digital. With the aid of new tools, inspiration from nature and a globalized design process, we have developed the beginning of a new range that questions what designed forms can be when 3D printed and equally a digital asset. An NFT is a - non-fungible token based on blockchain technology.
We are architects of the future. We love digital and physical.
It is important for to draw inspiration from forms that come naturally from the way they are produced, which in this case brings us closer to forms that are grown in the wild. The parallels between what is true to 3D printing and what is reflective of nature are uncanny and deserve to be celebrated in contemporary design. Custom 3d printed design becomes a contemporary design in a sustainable way.

We turn concepts into reality with our bespoke 3D printing solutions.

Our NFT collection drops every 4 week with a new collection. Only 1 asset is always available from a chair, coffee table or stool.

PROCESS

No design can be without the hand of the designer, but some designs are more forced than others. The process in this project was to gently guide the design in the way it wanted to go. A conversation between the maker and the artefact, digitally.

AESTHETICS AND VISUAL LANGUAGE

Nature and forms typical of 3D printing were key influences on this design, but there are a few discrete features that accentuate the aesthetic.

Surface continuity is the technical term for how two surfaces relate to each other. In nature you only observe positional and curvature continuity, in other words surfaces that touch and make a seam or surfaces that appear to flow continuously together and are seamless.

The mood that these designs try to emulate is the feeling of happening across a fallen log or tree stump in the woods and using it to rest on. This is a chair, table and stool set, so by virtue of that label it suggests its utility and purpose, but the visual language is that of spontaneity and natural forms without human ends. These products are created by an algorithm. Each piece is unique.
